A dozen volunteers from the LaHarpe Veterans of Foreign Wars and VFW Auxiliary gave a fellow veteran a helping hand Saturday, with hours of laborious yard work the centerpiece.
Kipp, an 83-year-old Korean War veteran, is unable to do most of the chores, the volunteers said.
A recent uptick in membership has allowed the VFW to do various outreach projects, such as helping veterans in need, Yetzbacher said.
